'12 Reflections

2012 is coming to an end. Only hours remain and it's time to relfect on what's happened this year.

1. Isaac turned 2 this year and the highlights from his year were learning to talk, playing with some awesome new toys, enjoying fun babysitters, visiting with friends, and growing 6 inches. (Mama is still crossing her fingers that potty training will take off and magically be done-SOON)

2. Eli turned 3 this year and the highlights from his year were getting to go to the library with the babysitters, lots of learning, playdates with his friends, helping mow the lawn all summer, and growing 4 inches this year-that puts him in 4T clothes already!

3. Sydney turned 12 this year and the highlights from her year were playing flute, getting to take some fun trips, making new friends, getting adjusted to middle school, and getting the final books to the Harry Potter series.

4. The highlights from Kendall's year were getting the basement windows replaced, enjoying more time on the green, spending a few weekends camping this summer, and getting a few other projects done around the house.

5. I really enjoyed this past year and have a lot to be thankful for. I finally painted that one wall in my kitchen and only have 6 other surfaces left to sand, clean, prime and paint! :) I've tried a lot of new recipes and most of them are keepers. My family and friends have taken up a lot of time over the year and I couldn't ask for better people in my life. Overall my family has been healthy (minus the colds and flu that took a round) and that is a huge blessing. No one was hospitalized!

6. We continue to attend a church that we enjoy and are challenged to find a deeper faith and push for the Truth.

7. I lost a good friend in February and think of her and her family often.

8. Some of our extended family members have had serious health concerns this year and we're blessed to have them with us still. We continue to lift them up in prayer.

9. Our house is still standing! We've re-inforced a basement wall, painted some interior walls, replaced windows, and continue to decorate. Anyone else feel like it's a vicious battle of staying on top of all those home-improvement projects?!

With everything, praise and thanksgiving be to God for all the blessings he has bestowed upon us! We recognize none of our highlights (and low times) are possible without his will. We are truly, unbelievably blessed beyond measure!
