Alone time

I am home alone this morning and loving it!

Don't get me wrong, I love my family but I almost never get alone time. It's wonderful! I get to do what I want when I want it and how I want to do it, without listening to whining and crying. ahhhh...... peaceful

So I'm trying to cram everything into this short amount of time before the herd of elephants come stampeding into my clean house. Shampoo carpets and furniture again, clean the bathroom, catch up on emails, do my nails, read, and all those other little household things that are nicer to get down without holding a baby or pushing a tractor around the carpet making "brrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmm" sounds.

We've had a wonderful week this week. All are healthy and generally happy. We have not had problems with Sydney except for last night's incident with Isaac. (still considered minor for how she acted) Isaac's teeth pushed through more so he's not trying to chew everything in sight and Eli has behaved ok this week. We had a playdate this week and it was so fun to watch the kids interact; they're still getting used to each other but I'm happy that my kids don't have to be loners and secluded in our house. :) Kendall and Adam are still working on the backyard fence, but significant progress has been made. And I have been baking and cooking up a storm this week: Apple Streussel Coffee Cake, Chicken Enchilladas, Chocolate Butterscotch Chip Cookies, Chocolate Revel Bars, Cavatini, and all of our regular nightly meals. Busy doesn't even begin to cover my life this week!

I have much more I'd like to talk about, but my nails can't paint themselves! So, I'll leave with this question:

What are ideas that my siblings and I can do for our parents' 25th Anniversary in 2 months? We will be having a big family meal and are getting family pictures taken in a couple of weeks. Gift ideas? Games for the dinner party?

  1. I don't know if your parents are into theatre/shows or not, but we used to get my parents gift certificates to Chanhassen Theatre in Minneapolis. They can go up and spend a weekend there and take in a show!

I'm impressed with your baking and cooking skills. Nice work! Enjoy your free morning!
