To say we had a rough morning would be an understatement. It was terrible-one of the worst RAD moments ever encountered in my life. I'm thankful for family who understands and are willing to help.
Thanks to Grandma for providing support and a break. I'm using my time to re-energize and focus on getting ready for this weekend. Thanks to my sister for the back up and social worker brains. It's reassuring to know I'm not making it up and we're on the right track trying to work through our problems.
I'm not a perfect mother. I don't claim to be a perfect mother.
I do, however, know this is who God calls me to be and I am to do my best for Him all the time.
I am called to be the mother of a RAD kid and 2 little boys. I am working my little tush off trying to counter-act the negativity and work to replace it with positive thoughts and experiences. No wonder I feel like taking a nap every day and going to bed at 8! I know I couldn't do this and hold a full time job out of the house. I'm thankful my husband is such a good provider and works too many jobs so I can stay home.
I'm reading this book and so far it's incredible. Change Your Brain, Change Your Life by Dr. Daniel Amen. It brings new light (to me at least) of what happens when the brain is traumatized. AND how to "fix" some of the problems. I'm very hopeful to try some of these thought processes and tasks myself and integrate them into our family life.
Here's to thinking positively and changing brains! :)
