What good is a story that is never told?
I've been pushing back against God lately. He's put it on my heart to share a story and I've been putting it off. I'm being disobedient. It's as simple as that. I'm not quite fleeing like Jonah, more like taking the long road trying to skirt around the problem like Abraham.
I know the nightmares will stop once I tell the story.
I know the feelings of anxiety and fear will subside, being replaced with the Peace of God when I fully submit to the calling He's giving me.
The outlet I should use isn't clear to me, however. Is it this blog? Is it a MOPS group? Is it devotion time at work? I know the answer will come in due time.
For now, I share this. A message of encouragement for others in the midst of trial.
God's love is enough. It is enough to carry you through your trial.
It is enough to make it through each day, each hour, each minute. Because some days the minutes passing seem endless.
Crying does not mean you are weak. Here is your permission.
If your body says cry, let it out.
If you are so numb from the shock, from the trauma; it will pass in time. You will feel again.
Find someone to talk to. Someone you trust. A friend, a pastor, a counselor.
Don't focus your thoughts too far in the future. It's enough to get through today.
There are organizations that can help you with "today" when it's too hard to do it yourself.
Don't add guilt to your trauma by negative thinking. Meditate on God's Word instead.
Zephaniah 3:17 has become a life verse for me.
My prayer is that you feel the peace that only comes from being held by God's loving hands.
