One of my New Years Resolutions this year (and last year actually) is to get in shape. I think I'm with majority of the US in that. I want to better myself in many areas and this is just one piece to that puzzle.
So, why did I pick T25 to help me get in better physical shape?
1. The DVDs were readily available (with some help from my ultra-techy husband). Access to the material without all the costs is a big deal for me. Many of these DVD sets/plans cost over $100 and that is just not in our budget!
2. I need a structured plan to follow each week, each day. I can't just run on the treadmill (or jog or walk). I work best with a set plan. With T25 I have a 10 week plan to follow with a set plan for every day.
3. I've tried some other plans but the workouts take too long. In under 30 minutes a day, I'm done. One more thing crossed off my list and then I'm on to the next thing. 30 minutes is about how long I can keep the boys occupied with something so I have the space I need.
4. My "skill" level actually allows me to follow the moves in the videos. I'm not very coordinated but I could still follow each of the exercises without too much difficulty.
5. Not a lot of equipment is needed. I have a yoga mat, a resistance band (back from when I did PT when I was pregnant with Isaac), and for weights I use some canned food. Easy peasy.
Why do I want to get in shape?
1. Feel better: I'm not in great shape and I know I can do better.
2. Look better: My clothes don't fit right and there's definitely some muffin top action goin' on.
3. Better sex. Yep, I said it. Not that there are any complaints in that department, but we could benefit from me being in better shape.
4. More energy through the day. When I take the time to work out, I get more accomplished during the day and feel better about what I get done.
5. Set a good example. I hope the boys see my efforts and interpret that to hard work and determination. God tells us to take care of our bodies and this is one way to do that.
My faithful readers, keep me accountable! Make me finish this 10 week program. I took my "Before" pictures last night (Ok, Kendall took them of me) and I won't release them until I can set them next to the "After" pictures. So, I definitely need to stay motivated to finish this and patient enough to wait the full 10 weeks.
Do you want to get in better physical shape? What are you doing this year to accomplish that? I'd love to hear your tips and tricks to staying in good shape!
