Sun Tea

Every Summer when I was growing up my mom would make sun tea. I'd have to chase off the flies and little black bugs so she could enjoy her summertime drink.

I never liked the stuff.

I still don't like the stuff. (even when Kendall made it an "adult drink" for me) Give me a mouth-puckering lemonade any day!

But it turns out my husband could drink it by the gallon and I love him, so I make the stuff.

Bonus: It's easier to make than Kool Aid so I've been known to let Eli make it for Daddy.

If you're an iced-tea lover, this is for you.

Sun Tea

  1. Fill a pitcher with hot water.
  2. Float two regular size tea bags (your choice of flavor)  or one pitcher size bag in water.
  3. Cover (best to use a pitcher with a lid!)
  4. Set out in the sun for an hour. or two. or the whole afternoon when you forget to bring it back inside.
  5. Dump the used tea bag(s) and refrigerate until cold.

You can sweeten it if you want, but I've been told it's best just the way it is.
