I can't but help sing the praises of my King!
Today may be Election Day, but FOREVER MY GOD REIGNS.
He is the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and Omega. He is Ruler over everything that HE created. Nothing can make me happier this morning than knowing that whatever the outcome of the election today, He has his hand over it all. He will never leave us or forsake us. He is faithful. When Israel turned their backs and demanded Kings to rule them like the other countries God never left them. Even when few righteous remained, He never gave up on Israel. Doesn't that sound more and more like America every year? But we have Hope. We may turn our backs on God and put our trust in Man, but he will NEVER EVER turn on us. Hallelujah!
We have the opportunity to be heard today (and I use "today" lightly because I voted weeks ago-woot!)
We have the chance to make an impact on our country and decide who will "be in charge" for the next term.
This is your chance to be involved and stand up for what you believe in. It is your privilege and your duty to vote. As a Christian, it is my opportunity to stand up for my beliefs and pick the candidate that most exemplifies the characteristics that God wants in a leader.
I've done my part, and now I pray. I pray for safety as everyone travels today, fairness at each polling station, patience at the polls, God's will to be done as a candidate is picked. I pray for the leader who will be elected to be God-fearing and be convicted by God's Word to lead by Christ's example. I pray for others who will be elected into other positions today to also lead by Christ's example and to best represent what God wants and not only what the people want because the people are oftentimes selfish and wrong, doing harm to each other for personal gain. I pray for the future of America to be bright and hopeful for my children. I thank GOD for the freedoms we enjoy. For our Soldiers who defend that freedom for us. For the Veterans who have fought for my country and my life. I am thankful that my Christ fought the ultimate battle AND WON for my life. I am not worthy, but am so very filled with thankfulness and joy! Amen and Amen!
