Over the weekend I took a little vacation to stay with my Grandparents in Minnesohduh. (Kendall makes fun of the way I say Minnesota every single time. sigh. He's just jealous he's not from there I guess!)
Anyway, the boys and I took my mom with for a couple days before the rest of the family came to join us. We spent lots of time eating, talking, taking golf cart rides, and chasing their neighbors ducks around. (Sorry neighbors, I made your "non-flying" ducks fly across town!)
The boys had a kick out of going to the county fair. We jumped in a soy bean "sandbox", ate ice cream, watched a lumberjack show, watched pig races, "test-drove" some tractors, and of course, pet a bunch of animals. My favorite were the baby Yaks. Yup, that's right. I pet a baby yak and it was ADORABLE! How many farm animals can you say that about? It's true. Picture a baby Holstein with shorter legs, fatter belly and fur like a Poodle. hahaha. Ok, that's a funny description, but that's the best I can come up with. I may like them more than goats now.
Eli said his favorite animals were the Roosters, but he's being silly. The kid was so scared in the Poultry barn that I had to hold him! Isaac may have nightmares about giant Belgian horsers after Grandpa pushed the stroller right under the head of one and the two had a stare-down for a minute. Just a little intimidating at that angle when you're 1. If I had to guess I'd say he loved the puppies since he banged up his head trying to climb IN the pen with them. ;)
Aside from scaring my kids, we also did a little shopping, played outside, and ate. again. and again. and again. Bad weekend for me to pig out since I plan on spending the entire next weekend (if it doesn't rain the whole time) in a swimsuit at WOF:4! YES!
Oh, and when we got home from our little trip, I saw the pictures that the boys had colored for their GG and had forgotten to give to her. So, first thing the next day we bought a stamp and mailed her those pictures. I felt so bad since Eli had colored it special just for her. Hopefully she likes toddler art :)
Thanks for a great weekend Minnesota!
