Nice Break

I've taken a little bloggy break this week. It was needed. I didn't feel much like posting and things were crazy enough around my house without having to come up with something to share.

On Tuesday some moms and kiddos from my MOPS group came over for a playdate. It was nice to have some kids for the boys to play with and share my baking for a change. I found a new blueberry muffin recipe and love it-it's just the right amount of everything. mmmm Maybe I'll be nice enough to share it sometime.

Isaac had a checkup with the ENT Dr. and it was discovered that his left tube is blocked. We had to do drops to flush the blockage and don't know if it has cleared or not. We'll do another night of drops and maybe get him checked again to make sure the blockage is gone.

Today was supposed to be the day of my race. I'm so upset that I wasn't able to run. Of course my back has to act up today to remind me why I'm at home instead of in DM.

We have a potluck tomorrow at church so I've been busy preparing food for the meal-CBC folks-get ready to eat good tomorrow! :) I'm multitasking right now looking for the perfect make-ahead potato recipe. I'm thinking twice baked potatoes, but I haven't narrowed it down yet. Maybe some good mashed potatoes would hit the spot. I still have a couple productive hours left in me.

With all of this going on, I still found time for a couple craft projects. I would hate to ruin some Christmas surprises, so I won't post pictures. Let's just say they're pretty fun! I would love to keep them all in my house so maybe I can make some for me after Christmas.

Another big project going on in my house has been the kitchen walls. Currently there is wallpaper on the walls, but I have every intention to strip the walls and paint them a nice, relaxing green. Kendall and I started peeling wallpaper over a month ago, and I've attempted to scrape a couple times but I'm getting NOWHERE! It must be old. Or I must not know how to scrape wallpaper. (Is it really that hard??) In any case, it's frustrating having a project started and not finished.

It's about time some potatoes get boiled and other food is "sampled" (again).
