i give up. he wins. no nap for eli today. i just cannot get him to lie still for 2 seconds so he can fall asleep. he's currently playing trucks and tractors (like every other day this summer).
i tried bribing him. "if you take a nap we can go swimming when you wake up!" i tried forcing him. "lie down now!" i have placed him on his pillows so many times that i lost count. i tried locking him in his room. (hard to do without an actual lock on the door!) and now i just give up.
sigh.
at least isaac is sleeping. he was up 4 times last night and screaming for most of it. he had an upset stomach and no burp would satisfy his little belly. so we walked. and rocked. and sang. and nursed. and tried everything else. eventually he would tire himself out and give in to sleep. for a little while.
what is with these boys i have? what can i do to get them to sleep? i miss my bed!

The little girl I was nannying went on a nap strike for about 6 months. She only took one or two naps a week, but every day she was put in her crib for at least an hour even if she didn't go to sleep. Then she all of started taking 3 hour naps every day... so maybe there's hope?
