I didn't quite know what this statement meant until today when the boys and I were at their Well-Child check ups. I knew it had something to do with how a kid is growing. Unfortunately, this may be one of my babies. It brings so many emotions and fears to the surface that they're kind of bubbling over.
Satan's got a hold on this one... My kid isn't growing, I must be a bad mom. I'm doing everything wrong. I should have stuck it out and kept him cooking for another week. It's all my fault...
He doesn't look unhealthy. He's happy most of the time. He's developmentally on track and ahead in some areas. He likes to eat and enjoys the new foods we're trying. He's just so little! At 9 months old Isaac weighs 19.2 pounds. This puts him at the 20th% or less.
He's also sick. A LOT. And not just a little sniffle here and there. We're talking lots of antibiotics, a hospital stay, and too many phone calls to the nice nurses over at OCAHS. Currently he's recovering from bronchitis, strep, and high fevers that caused a rash. If he doesn't gain a significant amount of weight before his next check we're on our way to Sioux Falls to a pediatritian to run tests on his immune system.
Please pray he can start packing on the pounds and for my fears to be put to rest.
