Kendall gave me a time out last night. It was great and much, much needed. I went to WalMart and looked for "Happy trucks" for Eli's birthday. It was just nice to be alone for an hour. When I came home the boys were both sleeping and Sydney was showered and ready for bed. He let her stay up and I wasn't thrilled about that, but didn't make a big deal. Nothing was going to ruin my mood!
I say much, much needed for the time out because it was. The kids are driving me crazy. The rainy weather doesn't help anyone's mood-especially mine. We're all restless and want to go outside to play. It IS supposed to be summer after all. Sydney has been very defiant lately and is trying to hurt others because she's hurting inside and doesn't know how to handle the emotions. We try to talk through things, but coming from me it's useless. I'm her victim. I'm tired of this role, especially since I'm the one who is here every day trying to make things better for everyone. Sigh
Eli has been fighting naptime and his last nap was a few days ago. This makes for a very whiny boy when I'm trying to get supper ready (and the rest of the night). The upside to this is that he's going to bed a little earlier. I'd still rather have the afternoon nap. And now he's sick with some kind of green snotty infection. yuck
We're still trying to figure out how to deal with Isaac's refulx without meds. Rice cereal in his bottles have been helping decrease the spit up. He still pukes a lot when I nurse so I think I should stop. I've lasted more than 2 months longer than I did with Eli and that was my goal. I would love to keep nursing, but at the cost of his upset stomachs and almost constant spit up, it's not worth it. Hope to have a happier baby soon!
Baby is growing too fast-he pulled himself up onto his knees next to a laundry basket yesterday and is SO CLOSE to crawling. Anyone remember how Eli used to crawl? (should bring a laugh to your belly) Isaac might be doing that same crawl. One knee and one foot. I'll have to videotape it so we can all laugh together.
